A warm feldspar bearing copper inclusions that, in fair light, scatter a low fire across the stone.
The Stone
Sunstone is feldspar sown with copper platelets that catch the light all at once: a scattered, low fire the trade calls aventurescence. In fair light the stone seems lit from within; in shadow it rests, warm and plain.
Disposition
The house grades sunstone by the density and evenness of its fire, carrying both the quiet stones for steady setting work and the full-blaze pieces that are offered singly.
