Clear quartz threaded with black tourmaline needles, each piece composed by chance and never duplicated.
The Stone
Where rutile threads quartz with gold, tourmaline threads it with ink: black schorl needles crossing clear crystal in compositions set by chance. The contrast is the stone's whole argument: clarity and darkness held in one piece.
Disposition
Each specimen is selected singly for the balance of its needlework and the water of its quartz, then photographed and papered. Like its golden cousin, it is bought by the piece, never by the parcel.
