Banded chatoyant quartz of honey and umber, worked smooth to display its slow shifting light.
The Stone
Tiger's eye is quartz that has replaced crocidolite fibre, keeping the fibre's sheen in bands of honey and umber. Worked smooth, the surface carries a slow chatoyant light that moves as the stone moves, the effect that gives it its name.
Disposition
The house carries tiger's eye worked and polished, selected for the depth of its banding and the evenness of its light. It is the most companionable of the chatoyant stones, and the trade's steady favourite.
